Paris Saint-Germain, led by their coach Luis Enrique, aims to end the French league campaign with an honorable win to strengthen their current lead with 73 points. The team will bid farewell to their star and all-time top scorer, Frenchman Kylian Mbappe, who has announced his departure at the end of the current season. Winning at Metz would also boost the team's morale ahead of the French Cup final against Olympique Lyon on May 25.
On the other hand, Metz, currently in 16th place with 29 points, has no choice but to win against Paris or secure at least a draw to avoid relegation or maintain their current position, which would lead to a play-off match to stay in Ligue 1.
Meanwhile, Lille and Brest, both tied in third and fourth place with 58 points, are aiming to secure the third spot directly qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. The fourth-placed team will have to go through the Champions League qualifiers.
Lille seems to have the upper hand as they play at home against Nice, currently in fifth place with 54 points and already qualified for the Europa League. Brest faces a tough challenge away against Toulouse, the French Cup winners last season, who are looking to improve their 11th place position with 43 points in the final round.
The battle for the Europa Conference League spot is intense between Lens and Lyon, both tied in sixth and seventh place with 50 points each. Marseille, currently eighth with 47 points, also has faint hopes of qualifying.
Lens will face Montpellier, in 12th place with 40 points, while Lyon will rely on home advantage against Strasbourg, who secured safety from relegation in the previous round.
Marseille will play against Le Havre, in 15th place with 32 points, needing at least a draw to avoid relegation.
In the relegation battle, Lorient, second from bottom with 26 points, aims to defeat bottom-placed Clermont Foot (25 points) and hope for Metz's loss against Paris Saint-Germain to secure a relegation play-off spot.
Finally, Monaco, second in the standings with 64 points, will face Nantes, where Egyptian international Mostafa Mohamed plays, in 14th place with 33 points. Reims, in 10th place with 44 points, will host Rennes in ninth place with 46 points as both teams aim to improve their positions.
