The ministry stated in a statement published by the Russian news agency "Sputnik" on Saturday that they had "thwarted an attempt by the Ukrainian regime to carry out a terrorist attack using a drone against targets inside Russian territory during the past night."
The Russian Ministry of Defense explained that "the Ukrainian drone was shot down over the territory of the Republic of Crimea by the deployed air defense systems."
The Ukrainian army continues to target border areas in southwest Russia with drones and missiles on a daily basis, confirming, as President Vladimir Putin stated, the need to expand the scope of the Russian military operation in Ukraine and repel Kiev's forces from Russian territories, including border areas where they are attempting to target Russia with missiles.
